PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF 3 NO. HOUSING UNITS AT AUBURN
HOUSE, NO. 36 CONNAUGHT ST, ATHLONE, CO WESTMEATH
In accordance with Article 81A(2) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended (Section 179A) and the Planning and Development Regulations 2023 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council proposes to: Construct 3 No. Housing Units and all associated works at the Protected Structure (RPS No. 27), Auburn House, No. 36 Connaught St, Athlone, Co Westmeath. The proposed development is also in an Architectural Conservation Area.
In accordance with Article 81A(2) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended (Section 179A) and the Planning and Development Regulations 2023 (as amended), Westmeath County Council has concluded from a screening pursuant to the provisions of Article 81A(S) that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 81A(6), Westmeath County Council has carried out a screening for appropriate assessment of the proposed development to assess, in view of best scientific knowledge, if the development, individually or in combination with other plans or projects, would be likely to have a significant effect on a European site. Accordingly, Westmeath County Council has determined that the proposed development would not be likely to have a significant effect on a European site.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development including the determinations under 81A(S) and (6) may be inspected and or purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at Westmeath County Council, Aras An Chontae, Mount Street, Mullingar and at Athlone Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone, Co. Westmeath during public opening hours Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays for a period of 8 weeks, from Saturday 9th December 2023 up to and including Saturday 17th February 2024. A person may question the validity of any decision of the planning authority by way of an application for judicial review under Order 84 of the Rules of the Superior Courts, in accordance with sections 50 and S0A of the Act within the period of 8 weeks from the date of the site notice/newspaper notice.
