Westmeath County Council hereby state that this Authority proposes to carry out development as described hereunder:-
Location of proposed development: - Kilbeggan Library, The Square, Kilbeggan, Co.Westmeath, N91PY74
Nature and extent of proposed development: -
The works being undertaken at the above addresses will consist of the following:
Enabling works to separate the entrances of the first floor Library and ground floor Doctors Surgery.
Repair and modification works to windows, walls and floors to the protected structure (Kilbeggan Court House and Market Building (Reg No15321052).
Renovation works entailing the provision of MYOL (my Open Library) services. demolition of internal
partitions and external walls, blocking up of one window at first floor level, Incorporating two window
openings into one new larger opening. provision of new aluminum windows, one AOV window and new
aluminum external doors. New façade treatment to the 2010 extension along with new aluminum
canopies/ window surrounds tied back to the internal leaf.
The development has been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment Screening in accordance with
Article 6(3) of the EU Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EEC) and the Planning and Development
Acts 2000 as amended.
Plans and Particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection at https://consult.westmeathcoco.ie/en and can be inspected or purchased at a fee not exceeding the
reasonable cost of making a copy at the offices of the Municipal District of Athlone-Moate Offices, Westmeath County Council, Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone, Co. Westmeath from 9.30a.m. to 4.00p.m. each day, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, from Wednesday 5th of July 2023 to Wednesday 9th of August 2023.
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development may be made via the Council's Consultation Portal at https://consult.westmeathcoco.ie/en or a written submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development, may also be submitted to the Administrative Officer, the Municipal District of Athlone-Moate Offices, Westmeath County Council, Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone, Co. Westmeath to arrive not later 4.00pm on Wednesday 23rd of August 2023.
Written submissions or observations received will form part of a statutory report to be presented to a meeting of Westmeath County Council and will form part of a public document. The information contained in submissions may be available for public inspection, to be published on the Council's website and available at the Council’s public counter.
