Future development will be guided by best practice place-making principles and the identification of regeneration opportunities, building upon the unique attributes of its Character Areas. The aim is to create an attractive and vibrant urban environment that supports retail and local businesses, the evening economy and town centre living, while promoting compact growth. The regeneration and development of designated Opportunity Sites will further underpin the town’s strategic growth.
