As an elected Cllr I bring forward views that have been raised with me and request they are taken in to consideration in the formation of the plan.
1- The support for the reopening of the Mullingar to Athlone railway line which then connects commuters to all railway destinations and connects the two major towns in Westmeath. The Transport Museum which has been discussed for many years should also be supported and possibly become a national museum which would bring more tourism investment to the area.
2- The provision of a town bus service which connects to all residential areas around the town therefore providing a public transport system within the town along with the excellent service provided by the Taxi Drivers.
3- Resolve the traffic issues in the town centre with a solution that helps all stakeholders and not just satisfy national policy.
4- The provision of additional secondary school facilities to support the growing population of our local area given the significant increase in house building in recent times.
5- The provision of a military museum given the long military history that Mullingar has should also be a priority and possibly linked with the transport museum. Also music is another theme for such a museum given the massive contribution that many Mullingar musicians has given both on the national and international stage.
6- Re enforce Mullingar as a major hub for industry with ensuring the advanced unit in the IDA park is provided straight away without further delays.
7- Provision of additional services along the old rail trail and ensure it becomes a must visit destination.
8- Provision of a pedestrian and cycle link from Mullingar to Belvedere House and Gardens.
9- With large scale housing developments at Ballinderry and Rathgowan approved, that proper infastructure for road safety are put in place without delay.
10- The provision of a regional sports centre including the new swimming pool is an essential addition for Mullingar and progress must be continued till delivered.
11- The provision of the foot bridge at Sanders Bridge has to be a priority and fast tracked.

To Whom it may concern
I currently own a property at ( Redacted: ;Personal Information) This property has a large rear garden 10m wide by 100m long. There are 10 gardens circa in total 100m wide by 100m long all adjoining each other and they also adjoin Grange Park Residential to the north. Access to this area of land on Patrick St would be quite easily achievable through Grange Park on access road which runs between house numbers 14 and 16.
Existing sewer pipe is already running to the north of the proposed land parcel for zoning - pipe was not surveyed but the last sewer MH in grange park is 98.22.
Multiple expressions to Westmeath County Council have been made previous in regards the zoning of this land for residential use. I have had discussions on same with (Redacted Personal Information)
Please find attached signed petitions from before in regards peoples interest in discussing with Westmeath CoCo the acquisition of this land in question.
The Visioning Exercise - We welcome the opportunity to fully engage with the local planning authority to assist in the ‘visioning’ exercise and for the production of a functional planning policy document to assist the sustainable spatial land use planning of Mullingar.
Approximately 1 Year to Draft Plan – Issues – Debate – Feedback -The Iterative Process to Draft - We note importantly and significantly the timescales associated with this stage as involves the Pre-Draft Stage, the information gathering, the assessment and consideration of the ‘evidence base’ and importantly and significantly, the long lead-in allowed of approximately a year.

Removal of a property from the record of protected structures
Redacted: (Personal Information) of which I am a Director, is the owner of a potential development site at Ashe Road, Fairgreen, Mullingar. The site is located in a central urban area close to all public transport amenities. I submit that this site would ideally be suited for the development of a residential scheme. The site is currently zoned for commercial use, and I submit that Westmeath County Council would consider re-zoning this site to a more suitable use which would further enhance the development of this area of the town.
I do not see any potential for the development of this site in its current zoning and I believe that this site is more suitable for either mixed use or residential, primarily due to its central location. The site is located circa. 750 metres from town amenities, 500 metres from the railway/ bus station and 500 metres from the “Ring Road” to the North. Any residential development on this site has the potential to be very sustainable in terms of facilitating active travel e.g., walking, cycling, along with public transport accessibility. This sites close proximity to the Royal Canal Greenway would also contribute to the quality of life of future residents should the site be developed.
