Re-Naming of the following Roads/Streets

Notice is hereby given that the Municipal District of Athlone -Moate on behalf of Westmeath County Council, propose to change the naming of the following roads /streets/Walkways:

 1 – L4006- From Junction of Retreat Road/Retreat Mews/Killyon Hill (mini roundabout) to new Garrycastle Roundabout to be named Cartrontroy road

2 – R916 - From new Garrycastle Roundabout to 'Wash House Turn' Roundabout to be named Wash House Road .  

3 – R916 - From new Garrycastle Roundabout to Altown Roundabout (over the Greenway bridge) to be named Altown Link Road. 

4 – R916 - From Altown Roundabout to Cornamaddy Roundabout to be named Marconi Way 

5 – L4001 - From Ballymahon Road (Coal Bunker junction) to Plunkett Road (mini roundabout near An Post SDS) to be named Dr Jim Keane Road

6. – L8015 – The road commonly known as The Quay to be named Sr. Bernard Quay

 7. – It is proposed to name the walkway commonly known as the Golden Mile to Ranelagh Way to be named Ranelagh Way 

Submissions or observations with respect to this proposed change may be made in writing, addressed to District Administrator, Municipal District of Athlone-Moate, Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone, by email to ammd@westmeathcoco.ie.or through the Westmeath County Council Consultation Portal at consult.westmeathcoco.ie on or before 4.00p.m. on Friday 25 June 2021.
