Welcome to the Burgess Park Public Amenity Masterplan Project

The Project

Westmeath County Council intends to develop a Masterplan for the development of the existing public amenity at Burgess Park. In August 2025, WCC appointed a team consisting of Fehily Timoney and Company and Brady Shipman Martin Landscape Architects to develop a proposed Masterplan for the development of Coosan Point. The purpose of the masterplan is to outline a vision for the site to enhance the area for recreational and leisure activities.

An advanced public consultation was undertaken in December 2025 and January 2026. The views of the public were collected and considered to inform the emerging design proposals that are now being put forward for the public’s further consideration and opinions.

Public Consultation

A design stage presentation has been developed for the site outlining the progress to date, a summary of the tasks completed, summary feedback from the advanced public consultation and a series of design concepts for the Burgess Park project.

Westmeath County Council is inviting all interested parties to participate in this public consultation.
